DRINKS UP: Tapville in Naperville, IL

New restaurant! New review!

I enjoyed my time here last weekend for quick bites and drinks before actually going out with friends. I will definitely be back here for a brunch day and Taco Tuesday.

Last year the owners of Red Arrow Tap in Naperville, Illinois rebranded and recreated this restaurant into Tapville.

A restaurant and bar that allows you to self serve with 48 taps that include beer, wine and cocktails.

Food and cocktail flights can be self ordered as well.

Think of this place like an icecream shop where you can pour as much or as little as you want.

If you like to taste test this may be your new favorite spot to mingle and get wasted! Plus Naperville downtown area is lit so when you’re done, just walk around, hangout, and have fun.

When we walked in, we showed our ID and gave our debit card to open up a tab. Once you open your tab they’ll give you your debit card back along with a “TAB CARD”. With this card you can insert it into any of the pours you want to try and you’ll be charged based on the amount you pour.

Grab your glass or glasses off the shelf and get to pouring!

No waitresses are needed to take your order in this bar either.

Instead there is a slot at your table to place your card in and purchase off the menu.

Once you order your food or other drinks like flights they’ll be brought to you before you know it.

When you walk out, make sure to insert your card in one of the gratuity baskets.

This closes out your tab and keeps others from getting your card and swiping it too.

Whatever marketing team came up with this idea is awesome. As a customer you have to keep tabs of your spending and because people come here TO DRINK, they’ll order endlessly off the menu. Not only that, but they cut out having to have waiters/waitresses which means more money in their pockets. I can see A LOT MORE restaurants adapting to this idea real soon.

Brunch Life: Azul Mariscos

This weekend was Saturday brunch goals. My best friends birthday is on Cinco de Mayo, so for brunch she chose Azule, a new Mexican seafood restaurant on the north side of Chicago.

a Mexican seafood restaurant on the north side of Chicago.

The restaurant has a dope Miami vibe with additional outside seating on the Chicago River and a rooftop. We ordered a variety of dishes off the brunch menu and drinks too, including their popular Margarita Tower.

We didn’t want dessert but before we left they brought out sparklers and a mini piñata filled with candy and a $20 gift certificate in celebration of Jule’s birthday.

Brunch Life at Virtue Restaurant

When we arrived they tested our temperature. We were not allowed inside without a mask on. There’s also outdoor seating as well, but this day was the first hottest day of the year and we chose to be inside under the AC ☺️. Inside, tables were spread apart, every employee had on a mask and the waiters had on gloves as well. When our waitress used our phone to take a picture of our group, she immediately put on another pair of gloves before serving us.

Friends ordered the Half Chicken, Beef Short Ribs, Salmon, and Shrimp.

I’d definitely return back to this restaurant again and would refer it to others. The atmosphere and customer service were both perfect.

Sunday Brunch Mesler Kitchen Chicago

Mesler for brunch in Hyde Park, Chicago.
The place was beautiful with charming lighting and art on every wall.

I think we chose a perfect day to come. It wasn’t crowded at all which made it even more intimate. EMPTY SPACES MEANS EVEN BETTER CONTENT FOR ME. Perhaps people MAY BE enjoying their holiday at home, are still on vacation or maybe the restaurant is still a hidden gem, I’m not sure.

Our most favorite meals were the Shrimp and Grits and the Chicken and Pearl Sugar Waffles of course I ordered the waffles. We ordered a round of mimosas and then surprised our girl Porsha with birthday gifts.
